Obituary of Jeannette L. Bundyk
ST. JOHNSVILLE – Mrs. Jeannette L. Bundyk passed away at the age of 97 on Friday evening September 8, 2017 at home surrounded by loving family and special friends.
She was born on June 10, 1920 in St. Johnsville, a daughter of the late Wallace and Maude (Ruller) Rider and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. Her marriage to Joseph T. Bundyk took place August 7, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Parish House, a loving union of nearly 53 years until Joe passed away on May 17, 2001. Jeannette worked at Helmont Mills in St. Johnsville for over 25 years and retired in July of 1982 to lovingly care for her husband. She was of the Catholic faith and had served as Treasurer of St. Patrick’s Church Altar Rosary Society and also was a partner in M & J Ceramic Shop on Main Street in St. Johnsville for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, her sisters Mildred and Lydia, and brothers Joe, William, Tom, Maurice and Carlton.
She leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Julie Rider - Erno (Frank), Lynn Mocko (Mark), Jan Rider (Elaine), Todd Rider (Sue), Jan Carter (Gail), Jack Carter (Sally), Calvin Rider, Medrick Chandler (Annabell), and Pat Pestuglicci (Carmen) along with several great – nieces and great – nephews.
A very special thank – you is extended to her caregivers Robin Lee Clark, Tina Richer, Angela Swank, Kristen Lee, Debbie Williams, Ashley Putnam, and friend Fay VanSchaick. Without you her life would have been very different. She truly loved you all.
The following arrangements have been established with The Enea Family Funeral Home at 9 Center Street in St.Johnsville, NY. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Wednesday September 13, 2017 from 5 until 7 PM. At the conclusion of calling hours, Wednesday (7PM) a prayer service will be offered by Father Rafael Dadello. A graveside service at St. Johnsville Cemetery will be held on Thursday September 14th at 10:00 AM.
Those wishing to remember Jeannette in a special way are asked to consider a memorial donation to either the St. Johnsville Volunteer Ambulance (PO Box 296, St. Johnsville, NY 13452) or the St. Johnsville Fire Department (6 West Main Street St. Johnsville, NY 13452). Envelopes are available at The Enea Family Funeral Home for these purposes.
