Obituary of Laura A. Lamanna

LITTLE FALLS- Laura A. Lamanna, age 95, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, September 16, 2017 at The Alpine in Little Falls.  At the time of her passing, she had the love and support of her sister, Teresa, at her bedside.

Born on November 1, 1921 in Little Falls, Laura was the daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine (Volpe) Lamanna. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Little Falls High School. Many will remember her for her years of employment as a bookkeeper with Rosie’s Flowers in Little Falls.

As a woman strong in her Catholic faith, Laura was a very active parishioner of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Little Falls. Currently, she attended Holy Family Parish, where she was involved in the Rosary Society and sang in the church choir.

By nature, Laura was a very loving and giving person. Not only was she heavily involved with her church, but she gave back to her community in any way she could, by volunteering with the American Cancer and American Heart associations. She had an artistic and creative mind and her enjoyment of the fine arts led her to attend many plays and productions of theater.

She is survived by her sister, Teresa Moretti, of Little Falls; her brother, Richard Lamanna of South Bend, IN; her nieces and nephews, Mark J. and Joyce Moretti of Pittsford, NY, Larry and Janice Lamanna of Fairfax, VA, Valerie Lamanna of Boston, MA, Jeffrey and Shayna Moretti of New York, NY, and Anne and Tony Langford of Dallas, TX; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Lamanna of Omaha, NE.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Lena Lamanna and her nephew, David M. Moretti.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315) 823-2424.  Laura’s funeral service will commence on Monday morning, September 25, 2017, at 10:15AM at the funeral home and at 11:00AM at Holy Family Parish in Little Falls, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Terence Healy, Sacramental Minister. Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Herkimer, where committal will take place in the family plot.

A special thank you is extended to Debbie, Cindy and Adrianna and also the staff of Little Falls Hospital and The Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, for their care and compassion.
