Obituary of William A. "Bill" Lynch

MOHAWK – Mr. William A. “Bill” Lynch, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, December 1, 2017, in the privacy and comfort of his home.

 

Born on June 13, 1936, William was the son of the late Thomas and Elsa (Rath) Lynch. He was raised and educated in the West Canada School District and on November 6, 1959 he was wed to the former Ina Bush in Newport. Together, the couple shared in over 46 years of marriage, until Ina’s passing on April 6, 2006.

 

Mr. Lynch spent his career as a roller operator with the Hanson Aggregates Quarries, where he was employed for thirty-one years before his retirement in 1998. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors, riding his motorcycle and snowmobiling in the wintertime. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed any time that he could spend with his family.

 

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John and Vicky Lynch of Ilion; his two grandchildren, Mackenzie Lynch and Noah Lynch; his sisters, Louise Crowl, Helen Rachon, Theresa Baumes, Florine Cool, Eileen (Bill) Foster, and Debra; his brothers, Art “Bud” Lynch, Charles Lynch, James Lynch, Larry (Karen) Lynch, and Wesley (Kim) Lynch; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Besides his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Lois Rose.

 

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no public funeral services. His earthly remains will be laid to rest with his wife, Ina, in Mohawk Cemetery at the convenience of his family. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions, in Bill’s name, to the Mohawk Volunteer Fire Department, 28 Columbia Street, Mohawk, NY 13407.
