Obituary of Regina M. Pliszek

HERKIMER – Mrs. Regina M. “Reggie” Pliszek, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, February 13, 2018, at Valley Health Services in Herkimer.

Born in Herkimer, Regina was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Cioch) Alexanderowicz. She was raised and educated in Herkimer and attended local schools. As a young woman, she was married to the late Raymond T. Pliszek at St. Joseph’s Church in Herkimer, and together the couple shared in a blessed marriage of over thirty years, until Mr. Pliszek’s passing on September 23, 1981.

Regina was a hardworking woman who held positions with various companies throughout the years, including Univac, Griffis Air Force Base and lastly with the Library Bureau in Mohawk, where she worked in customer service. In her spare time, Regina enjoyed dancing, especially to the polka. She was a longtime parishioner of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church in Herkimer.

Survivors include her sisters, Helen Nudo of Ilion and Jean Czarnecki of Herkimer; her brother, Ted Alexanderowicz of Mohawk; her grandson, Jeremy White and wife, Megan of PA; her great-granddaughter, Kaylyn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husband and parents, Regina was predeceased by her daughter, Bernadette White; her sister, Stella Glogowski; and her brothers, Edward Alexander, Joseph Malowski and Frank Malowski.

A funeral mass will take place in the Spring of 2018 at Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church in Herkimer, at a date and time to be announced. Final committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, where Regina will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter.
