Obituary of Urilla (Chrisman) Gazda
TOWN OF COLUMBIA - Urilla Gazda, 87, of Northport Florida died January 4, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born June 4, 1930 in Columbia, NY, she was a daughter of Robert and Olive (Reid) Chrisman. After high school she moved to Buffalo, NY where she met and married Casimer Gazda on August 23, 1952. Urilla worked at several factories in Buffalo and was a personal caregiver in Florida.
Urilla was very creative and made many homemade gifts for family and friends. For many years she taught ceramics out of her home in Buffalo. She also was an excellent gardener, seamstress, loved to travel and decorate her home.
She was pre-deceased by her husband in 1982, a daughter, Christine Vida, in 2013 and her sister, Imogene Crisman Wood in 2017 .
Surviving are her daughter Deborah (Gabriel) Greco of Mansfield, PA, granddaughters Amanda (Ronald) Johns , Jessica (Jeremy) Giglia, Katherine Greco, great grandson Mason Johns.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 28, 2018 at the North Columbia Cemetery in Ilion NY with Rev. Hans Drews officiating. Burial will follow the service.
