Obituary of Elizabeth "Anne" Stites
ILION – Mrs. Elizabeth “Anne” Stites, age 69, a resident of Prindle Apartments in Ilion, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, on Tuesday morning, April 17, 2018.
Born on April 14, 1949, in Paris, Illinois, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Fenton Huston and Betty Rose (Kuykendall) Bottom. She was raised in Kansas, Illinois, and received her education there. As a young woman, she was wed to Mr. Wayne Arthur Stites, and together they shared in a blessed and devoted marriage until his passing in 1993.
Anne was a doting mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved her family dearly and very much enjoyed spending time with them. She was very active within the retirement communities that she lived in, doing crafts and activities, attending dinners and functions, and playing shuffleboard. She was outgoing, fun, and a one-of-a-kind soul who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sabrina Bottom of Ilion; her daughters and son-in-law, Angela Burkhart of Shawnie, OK and Mary Ann and Darin White of Norman, OK; her twelve grandchildren, Cannan, Courtney, William, Jacob, Cierra, Michael, Andrew, Corey, Meagan, Dennis, Jr., Jackson and Kaelin; and her fifteen great-grandchildren, Ryder, Brecken, Emmy, Ryder, Rylan, Gracie, Tiffany, Logan, Richie, Mikey, Jackson, Cole, Skylar, Mason and Callan. She also leaves her brothers and sister-in-law, David Bottom and William “Tom” and Joyce Bottom, all of Illinois; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Terry McCall of Florida, Mary and John Emberton of Tennessee, Debbie and Jay Trott of Illinois, and Ruth Bottom and John Hutchings of Illinois; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents and grandparents.
Anne’s family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 2:00PM – 3:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. A Celebration of Life service will commence at 3:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Pleasant Hill Christian Church in rural Kansas, Illinois. Inurnment will follow the church memorial service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
