Obituary of Justin Dean Dager

SCOTIA – A true champion. “J.D.” Justin Dean Dager joined his loved ones in heaven in a peaceful manner on July 14, 2018. He was blessed with those so very special to him at his side.

He was born in Amsterdam, NY on March 7, 1997 and was 21 years old. He graduated, ‘Class of 2018’ with Scotia Glenville High School. Justin was a miracle child; a fighter who surpassed many obstacles. He loved the NY Yankees and the Denver Broncos.

He is survived by his beloved family; mother, Laura Marie Dager, sister, Destinee Bennett, grandfather, Richard Dager and his companion Linda Getman, Uncles, Nicholas Dager, Craig Dager and companion Kristie Mowers, and Wade Smith and his wife Jacqueline; cousins, Tyler, Serena, Connor, Cameron, Caydon and Katalina, and his cats, Tiny and Knight.

He was predeceased by his grandma, Christine Dager; his stepdad, Timothy Bennett; longtime loving friend, Troy Shiver; great-grandma, Barbara Smith and husband Gerald; great-great grandma, Flossie Montana; great grandparents, John & Florence Hamblin; and a great uncle, Edward Aney.

The family would like to thank Albany Medical Center for all the care given to Justin.

Funeral services are Thursday July 19, 2018 at 12 Noon at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville with Rev. David A. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Calling hours are 10 AM until the service time.

Thank you so much to the Scotia Police Department, Fire Company and most of all to Justin’s amazing sister Destinee for her courage and for being a ‘rock’ for mom.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors.
