Obituary of Carol Marie Pryor

HERKIMER – Mrs. Carol Marie Pryor, age 71, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, August 13, 2018, in the privacy and comfort of her home.

Born on April 10, 1947, Carol was the daughter of the late Anthony & Jennie (Mallozzi) Costello. She was raised and educated locally, graduating with the Frankfort-Schuyler Class of 1965.

On August 3, 1974, Carol was united in marriage with Mr. Timothy D. Pryor at the United Methodist Church in Frankfort, and together they began a journey that would last them for forty-four years. They had a mutual respect and love that withstood the tests of time, and were a true complement to one another. Together, they enjoyed the fruits of their labor, travelling and spending time with family and friends. Amongst Carol’s favorite places to escape to was Myrtle Beach. In her spare time she enjoyed ceramics, shopping, and throughout the years cared for many beloved pets.

For many years, Carol was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Group Processor, and she was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Herkimer. She made many lasting friendships throughout her life, and will be dearly missed by the ones she leaves behind.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Timothy; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Pryor; her in-laws, Michael and Glenna Pryor, Robert and Phyllis Pryor and Judith and Pat Lasorella; along with numerous nieces and nephews, with special acknowledgment to her niece Julianne Lasorella and special friend, Karen Noble, for the care and dedication shown to her throughout her illness.

Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her father-in-law, John E. Pryor.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend Carol’s funeral service, which will commence on Thursday morning, August 23, 2018, at 10:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Cunningham, Pastor. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, where her earthly remains will be laid to rest.

For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions to the Herkimer County Humane Society, PO Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407 OR to Hospice & Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Carol’s final arrangements have been entrusted to Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors of the original Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (866-1011). Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
