RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Laura Ann Twomey, 49, of Richfield Springs, NY passed away on Saturday Sept 22, 2018 at home in Richfield Springs, NY surrounded with the love and comfort of her family.

Laura was born in Herkimer, NY to Neal and Norma Bostwick on Sept 3, 1969. She attended high school at Mohawk, NY and graduated in 1987. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Math & Biology from Keuka College. She then continued her studies in Histology at SUNY Cobleskill. Laura married the love of her life Patrick Andrew Twomey on Jan 15, 1993. She worked as a Histologist first for Alpena Hospital in Alpena Michigan then for LabCorp at St. Lukes Hospital for a total of 23 years until health issues forced her to leave. She enjoyed crafts, quiet walks in the woods, canoeing, baking, time with friends, but most of all caring for her family and motivating them towards success.

Laura is survived by her husband and best friend, Patrick Twomey, of Richfield Springs; Sons, Thomas, of  Schenectady, Michael, at SUNY Cobleskill and Patrick, at home, in Richfield Springs; Parents, Neal & Norma Bostwick, of Richfield Springs; Sister, Lynae (Luke) Wyckoff, of Cooperstown; 2 brothers, Neal (Lisa), of Bridgewater and Steven, of Puyallup, WA; and maternal grandmother, Bertha Frank, of Mohawk. She also leaves Mother-in-law, Ella Mae Twomey; brother-in-law, Michael; and several nieces and nephews whom she deeply loved.

A service of remembrance for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Mohawk Reformed Church with Reverend Brian Engel officiating. In accordance with Laura’s wishes no calling hours will be held. She instead wanted her many friends and family to know how much she appreciated time spent with them over the past years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Scholarship fund established at the Richfield Central School. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr Butala and staff, and devoted friend Mary Stevens for the loving care provided to Laura during her battle of many years.
