Obituary of Anna Seifried

LITTLE FALLS – Miss Anna Seifried passed away quietly on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Little Falls Hospital. She was surrounded with the love and comfort of many family members at her side.

She was a lifelong resident of Little Falls. She was born on September 11, 1924, the daughter of the late Louis and Charlotte (Timler) Seifried. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1942 with a major in business. She was offered a job right away at Hansen’s – Junket Brand Foods. Her primary task was that of payroll clerk, but she often filled in on various jobs throughout the company when others took vacation. She also worked weekends at the Rialto Theatre selling tickets and occasionally at the candy counter. Her love of old - time movies continued until the present day.

Anna was a member of the Christ Evangelical Church on Petrie Street. She served on the church council, taught Sunday school, was Sunday School Superintendent, and chaired many committees. She played on the company women’s softball team and was a member of the Little Falls little theatre club. She enjoyed travelling, most recently taking a cruise to Alaska. As we sit down and reflect upon the life of Anna Seifried as a family, the special thoughts of her that come to mind and that she has passed on to us are that of an inspiring, strong independent woman of her time. She laid for us a path of strength and determination that we admire and are so very appreciative and proud of.

She is survived by a sister – in – law, Audrey Seifried, of Elmhurst, Illinois; nineteen nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Jacob, Philip, William, John and Joseph; sisters, Mary and Elizabeth; nephews, Phillip Seifried, Allen Seifried and Greg Deming; and niece, Linda Dygert.

Anna’s Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, NY with Rev. David A. Johnson, officiating. Interment will be in Church Street Cemetery. A Calling hour will be held Thursday prior to the service, from 10 until 11 AM.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Norman Freund and the nurses and staff of the third floor at Little Falls Hospital for their care and compassion during Anna’s recent confinement. Additionally, a very special thank you is extended to Barb Korce for being there as a caregiver to Anna for many years.

In lieu of floral offerings, please consider a donation to the Little Falls Hospital in loving memory of Anna Seifried.
