Obituary of Frances F. Moynihan

 

LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Frances F. Moynihan, age 95, a lifelong resident of Little Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 11th, 2018 at the home of her son and daughter – in – law in Northport, Alabama.

Frances was born on April 21st, 1923 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Stephen and Kristine (Pecen) Ferjanec and was a graduate of Little Falls High School, ‘Class of 1940.’ On January 5th, 1946, Frances joined hands in marriage to the love of her life, Peter H. Moynihan at St. Mary’s Parish House in Little Falls with the Reverend William D. Noonan officiating. The couple shared over 69 devoted years of marriage together. Peter passed away February 18, 2015. Frances truly loved the community of Little Falls. She was active in her church, Holy Trinity Lutheran, and had served with WELCA, the women’s club of the church and the senior citizen’s club of the church. She was a volunteer for the local nutrition program and was a member of the National AARP and Little Falls Chapter #4367.

Frances was employed at Salada Foods in Little Falls for 17 years as Inspector / Tea Packer. For 15 years she had worked in Cherry Burrell’s Planning Department. Frances was known for her ease in conversation and always made us smile. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, constantly nurturing us with love and her utmost true Christian faith.

She is survived by her beloved family, her son, Dr. Gary P. Moynihan and his wife Eleanor, of Northport, Alabama; two grandchildren, Andrew Moynihan, of San Jose, California and Keith Moynihan, of Santa Monica, California; her brother, Frank Ferjanec and his wife Elvira, of Nevada; two god children, Elizabeth Schwartz – Hradsky, of California and John Mochovciak, III, of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Kristine Piassik, Ann Jones, Mildred Blom, and Helen Hradsky; and her brothers, John Ferjanec and Stephen Ferjanec.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart – felt forms from so many people and neighbors and inclusive to her faith community of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Pastor Joe Famulare and the generous and kind – hearted members, as well as specifically friends Eileen Zaklukiewicz, Barbara Cinquanta, Millie Koziol, Gail Moynihan,  Cindy Freeman Kimbrall and Palma Moore.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 10:00 AM from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Joseph Famulare, Pastor, officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls on Tuesday, October 16th from 5 until 7 PM.
