Obituary of Dr. Donald L. Cancelmo

 

LITTLE FALLS – Dr. Donald L. Cancelmo, age, 74, of Furnace Street, a brilliant astrophysicist and inventor, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with the love of his wife and daughter at his side on Thursday morning, October 18, 2018.

He was born March 24, 1944, in Hartford, CT, son of the late Joseph and Rose (LaCava) Cancelmo. He was married to the former Irene Kovacs. He served in Vietnam from 1967-72. He owned and operated Aurotek TSB, Inc. in East Herkimer, bearing manufacturing.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; daughters, Carmela, at home and Stephanie Thompson and son, Matthew Cancelmo; sisters, Celine and husband, Paul Pedemonti and Joanne Cancelmo – Guillen; brothers, Joey and Janet Cancelmo – Stein and Robert and Karen Cancelmo; grandchildren, Simon and Spencer Thompson; mother – in – law, Irene Kovacs; in – laws, Nancy and Robert Chester and Vince Kovacs; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family has met with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY to handle what happens from here and to honor all previous wishes. There are no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Funeral Directors Harry & Kevin Enea, Martin Ciaccia and Donald Applegate (315) 823-2424.
