Obituary of Elizabeth Mae "Bette" Comstock

 

LITTLE FALLS- Mrs. Elizabeth Mae “Bette" (Youker) Comstock, 80, of Little Falls, a former resident of Salisbury Center for 52 years and Valley View Courts for the past 10 years went to sleep in the arms of her Lord and Savior on November 28, 2018.

She was born on May 31, 1938, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late William H. and Orilla (Remonda) Youker.

On June 18, 1955, she married Roselle “George” Comstock in Fairfield, NY. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and Mr. Comstock passed away January 1, 2016.

She had worked as caretaker of St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dolgeville, New York.

She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God, Salisbury Center, where she served as Missionette Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher for the Junior Class with her husband. She was also a former Den Mother for a few years in Stratford. Bette was a dedicated wife and committed to making her husband Roselle happy all of the time. She read the bible faithfully, loved to crochet and knit, enjoyed creating wonderful poetry, and was completely family oriented. Life was centered around her family.

She is survived by 3 sons, George (Sharon Allen) Comstock, of Salisbury, James (April Allen) Comstock, of Stratford and Dennis (Donna Buzo) Comstock, of Gloversville; her daughter, Theresa Amthor, of Little Falls. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn (Arnold) Brown, of Little Falls, Eleanor (Jack) Wilhelm, of Salisbury Center and Joyce Youker, of Salisbury Center; In Laws, Earlene Youker and Steve Blow; a special aunt, Dorothy Stanley; 3 brothers – in – law, Arthur (Marie) Comstock, Lawrence (companion Ginger Barker) Comstock and Sidney (Norma) Comstock; her sister – in – law, Virginia (Wally) Sherman; 14 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and her cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roselle; her sister, Debbie Blow; a brother, William Youker, Jr., and brother, James Arthur Youker; her great-granddaughter, Alyia Smith; her in laws, Willis Comstock, Lillian Hilley and William Amthor.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at Salisbury Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Robert Brent, officiating. Following the church service all are invited back to the Valley View Courts Community Center in Little Falls for fellowship. Spring burial will be in Dibble – Tuttle Cemetery, Salisbury.
