Obituary of Catherine E. Hext

 

FRANKFORT – Catherine E. Hext, age 90, of Frankfort, NY, passed away on Monday, Christmas Eve, December 24, 2018, at Sitrin Health Care Center, Town of New Hartford, NY.

She was born November 3, 1928, in Frankfort, NY, a daughter of the late Louis P. and Catherine A. (Staiger) Christian and was educated in schools there. She last worked with St. Luke’s Hospital in New Hartford in the Allen Calder Wing. She lived in Frankfort and raised her family there. She was the Town of Frankfort Historian for many years.

She is survived by her beloved family, her son and daughter – in – law, Randall and Sharon Hext, of Rome, NY; her grandchildren, Melissa Kulik and her husband, Michael, of New Hartford and Lindsey Bukowski and her husband, John, of Woodbury, Minnesota; two great – grandchildren, Matthew Kulik and Morgan Kulik; her daughter and son – in – law, Janice and Robert DeLuke, of Oneida, NY; her sister – in - law, Jean Lytwnec, of Herkimer; a brother – in – law, Roger Harper, of Rome; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by the father of her children, Donald S. Hext, on December 9, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) with Father Paul Catena officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 1:00 PM.

Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday afternoon, prior to the funeral prayers at the funeral home, 1:00 until 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Herkimer County Humane Society, PO Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407.  Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
