Obituary of Anna Soposki

JORDANVILLE - Mrs. Anna (Hunt) Soposki, of Jordanville, NY, passed away peacefully, at Saratoga Hospital, on January 7, 2019 at the age of 85.

Ann was born to parents, William and Catherine Hunt, on July 26,1933, in Paines Hollow, NY.  She grew up as the third oldest of ten and attended Mohawk Central Schools.  She married Metro Soposki and they shared 50 years of marriage.

Through most of her adult life, she worked in LifeSavers, Beechie Dept., where she enjoyed so many wonderful, lifelong friends and had continued many of those friendships throughout her lifetime.  Many thanks from her, for the extra special friendships of Maggie Etherton, Dorothea Sullivan and June Richvalsky.  Ann was a volunteer in the Van Hornesville Women’s Auxiliary, enjoyed visiting the casinos and hitting a jackpot here and there. Mostly just spending time with family and friends made her happy.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Soposki) Hoke, of Ballston Spa, NY; her grandson, Joshua Hoke, Saratoga Springs, NY; her brothers, Bill Hunt Jr. (Barbara Goodson) and Russell (& Marianne) Hunt; her sisters, Betty Smith and Jean (Bob) Mang; along with 42 nieces and nephews.  She especially enjoyed her frequent visits by her great-nephews, Hunter & Cole Coveny.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Metro Soposki; her brothers, George and Lester Hunt; and her sisters, Louise Edick, Nancy Mitchell, and Dorothy Hunt.

At Ann’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.  A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in Mohawk Cemetery.  While condolences are appreciated, no donations are requested.
