Obituary of Elizabeth R. "Betty" Kelly

ILION - Mrs. Elizabeth R. “Betty” Kelly, 91, of Ilion, a former longtime resident of Kelly Road, Little Falls (Town of Fairfield), passed away on Sunday morning, February 24, 2019, in The Grand, Ilion.

Mrs. Kelly was born on December 13, 1927, in Northampton, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Harrington) Reynolds. She was a longtime area resident and received her education in Gloversville schools. She and Paul J. Kelly were married on October 12, 1957, in St. Ann's Church, Wells, NY. Mr. Kelly passed away August 24, 2012 after a loving marriage of 55 years. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Herkimer.

Betty was an office assistant at the Prospect Hotel in Herkimer, and also worked at Friendly’s as well as Triangle Shoes many years ago.

Surviving Betty is a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sue Kelly, of Ilion; 4 grandchildren, Scott Kelly, of Frankfort, Mike and Erica Kelly, of Floyd, Joshua and Bri Kelly, of Ilion and Megan and Caleb Sirko, of West Winfield; along with 13 great-grandchildren, Aleah and Michaella Kelly, Elizabeth Flynt, Isabella, Jeremy, Jocelyn, Everett, and Weston Kelly, Ethan Pansa, Vera Emily Kelly, London Grace Sirko, Maddox Sirko and Ella Sirko; and 3 great-great grandsons.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Charlotte Stoddard, Peggy Frasier and Delbert Reynolds.

Arrangements are with The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY, (894-8000). Her son, Pastor John Kelly, will conduct funeral graveside services for his mom at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Calvary Cemetery, West German Street, Herkimer.

Those wishing may consider a donation in her memory in lieu of flowers to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kelly's family would like to thank the staff of The Grand, especially the 4th floor for their fine care extended.
