Obituary of Romelia "Molly" Battisti

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Romelia “Molly” Battisti, 98, passed away peacefully, on February 26, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a lifelong resident of St. Johnsville who was a devoted wife, mother of four, and friend to more people than can be listed here. Molly was a dedicated member of the St. Johnsville Business Girls. Growing up she loved to dance, and her childhood dream was to be a dancer.  She enjoyed tennis, golf, and cooking and was justly famous for her homemade pasta, pies, and Italian cookies.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Romeo.

She is survived by her son, Richard; her daughters, Lorraine (Wayne) O’Connor, Tina (Steven) Nabinger and Christa (Salvatore) Giarrizzo; grand-daughters, Jessica (Taylor) Divine, Lauren (Brian) McCrocklin, Sabrina Nabinger, Juliet Nabinger, Grace Giarrizzo and Anna Giarrizzo; and great-grandchildren, Rosalie Divine and Nolan McCrocklin.

Her sense of humor, endless energy, and love of life will be missed by all who knew her. We will never forget her sparkling eyes, her infectious laugh, and her constant love for all of us.

Calling hours and funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 15, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, in Fort Plain. Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. This spring there will be a burial service on Monday, June 10, at the St. Johnsville Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

Contributions can be made to Morris J. Edwards St. Johnsville American Legion Post #168 and mailed to them at 38 West Main Street, St. Johnsville, NY 13452 in memory of Molly Battisti.
