Obituary of Thomas A. Dupont
UTICA - Mr. Thomas A. "Tom" Dupont, age 69, currently of Utica and formerly a longtime Herkimer resident, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2019 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
Born on December 15, 1949, Thomas was the son of the late Ernest Alonso Dupont and Virginia "Joyce" (Beach) VanAlstine. He was raised and educated locally and furthered his studies in Healthcare Administration and Child Psychology. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era. Tom was employed as a Nursing Home Administrator with Fiddler's Green Manor in Springville, NY and also worked for a time at the Folts Home in Herkimer. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed quiet days on the West Canada Creek.
Tom is survived by his son, Kyle Dupont of Newport; his grandson, Dayton Dupont; his siblings, Wayne Dupont of Mohawk, Deborah Thomes of Floyd and Jeff and Carleen Taylor of Holland Patent.
He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Rhonda Dupont; and his in-laws, Cathy Dupont and Frank Skutnik.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. His final arrangements have been entrusted to Funeral Directors Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia of the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, Town of Frankfort, NY )315) 894-8000.
