Obituary of Rose Giachetti

HERKIMER – Miss Rose Giachetti, a longtime resident of Herkimer and the last surviving sibling of the Giachetti family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, March 13, 2019 at the age of 96.

Born on June 21, 1922, Rose was one of ten children of the late Vincenzo and Mary (Donadio) Giachetti. She was raised and educated in Little Falls where she earned her education. At one time, Rose was employed with Eastern Footwear in Dolgeville and then worked for many years at the Melrose Shoe Factory in Little Falls.

Although Rose never married, she was a loving and dedicated sister and aunt to her many, many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Armond Giachetti, Joseph Giachetti, Henry Giachetti and Angelo Giachetti; and her sisters, Catherine Milette, Irene Vogt, Josephine Taylor, Carmella Paul and Louise Gregg.

In keeping with Rose’s wishes, her body will be cremated and final interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
