Obituary of Richard G. Roberts
FORT PLAIN – Richard G. “Ziggy” Roberts, 70, of Stone Arabia Road, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019, at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Amsterdam, New York. A very special thank you is extended to St. Mary’s 4th Floor and to Hospice.
He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and attended LaSalle High School, Troy, NY, graduating with the class of 1967. He was a US Postal Service Letter Carrier, Rotterdam, New York. He was drafted into the US Army, having served during Vietnam and subsequently was a member of the Fort Plain VFW. He was a Beatle maniac, and loved collecting their memorabilia. He loved sports as well.
He was the beloved husband of Cynthia (LaMorticello); her children, Richard and Raymond LaMorticello; and Ray’s son, Vincent, who loves the Beatles just like Ziggy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 11:30 AM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, New York, with the presence of full military honors.
