Obituary of Richard Waffle

MOHAWK – Mr. Richard A. Waffle, age 55, passed away unexpectedly of heart complications on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Born on August 5, 1963, Richard is the son of Barbara (Rosemyer) Saleh and the late Richard M. Waffle. With strong ties to the Mohawk Valley, he was proud to have been an eighth-great-grandson and decedent of General Nicholas Herkimer.

Richard was raised and educated in the Rochester Area and worked as a Pilot Car Escort for State Line Pilot Car Services in Rochester.

First and foremost, Richard was a wonderful father who enjoyed cub scouting and spending time with his beloved son. He cherished the relationship he shared with Rosemarie Ann Adams, and together they shared in nine years of devotion, love and respect.

As a friend, there was no other like him. He could always be counted on to listen and lend steadfast support. He was truly the “Rock of Gibraltar” to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Survivors include his beloved, Rosemarie; his son, Nicholas Herkimer Alan Waffle; his stepdaughter, Danielle Marie Adams; his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Sherif Saleh; his brother, Alexander Waffle; his sister, Wendy Waffle; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special cousin, Joseph Rosemyer. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and his mother-in-law, Claudia Friedel.

Richard’s family honored and commemorated his life in a private gathering. A memorial service will take place at a later date and time.
