Mr. and Mrs. Gullis, Dan, and Kristin- I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Kevy. He truely was one of my closest, and dearest friends. I did not keep in touch with many after high school, but Kev was one with whom I remained in contact with. We always kept in touch, and we always made time to get together when I came home to visit. I would usually surprise him either with a call when I got here, or let him see the car in the driveway as he passed by my parents house. He then would call, say "I didn't know you were coming home!" and be here either that day or the next. We were supposed to meet Sunday, and I patiently waited for him to call. When learning of the news, I could not believe it. How could Kev be gone? We had just talked! I came home with plans to see him....instead it was a tearful good-bye to a best friend of many, many years. I have SO many memories, too numerous to count, and for that I am grateful. I am blessed to have had Kev in my life. I will miss you terribly, and coming home to Herkimer will never be the same again. You will always be near to my heart, and I will never forget the fun and wonderful times we shared. I miss you already- and the memories will keep you alive until we can meet up again. Gullis family, my deepest sympathy to you all. I must say that he was the most respectful, caring, and loving friend thanks to his wonderful upbringing. I loved Kevy like my own brother! Kevy, the first thing that came to mind was you on that KX 80 dirt bike out in front of my father's business. You ridding those wheelies then ending up on your butt after I encouraged you to do them. Not only did you flip it once, but I believe three different times! You came back to me and said I have to have it even though it seemed to get the better of you with the rocks in your butt. One other crazy memory we had was when we took that motorcycle up into the field, me driving, you holding on for life. Back then, we didn't think we needed helmets, we were young and invincible! There was a jump in the field that normally you wouldn't hit with a motorcycle, but Kevy and I decided to launch the motorcycle off it, somehow we landed it with only a light exhaust burn on the leg. Kevy, Not only will I miss the crazy times, but will miss you! You always came to see me when I came in town, no one else did. I'm sorry we couldn't have more times together, no matter what it would have been. Unfortunately Uncle Sam has me tied up for a few more years helping defend our freedom as you and I sure love it and lived the American dream! I love you Kevy and I will keep the rubber side down as I ride thinking of you! SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE KEVY!!!

Kevy athough we havn't hung out in years I have been very fortunate to have been able to enjoy many thing with you such as hunting, fishing, camping, work and riding sleds. I have many memories that i will never forget. One of which is when my girlfriend and I was heading to herkimer from Ilion a few years ago and you were in front of us on your bike ,you pulled a wheelie from the top of the ramp to the bottom and my girlfriend was like holly crap look at this crazy guy. I replied oh that's just Kevin. Cause that is just the type of person you were. I will never forget that day . Rest in peace Kevin

Kevy, Thanks for being Jim's second brother and always making our grandsons, Zachary & Dylan smile & laugh. You were the greatest jokester as you always made us feel happy. You had to be a special person for me to take you deer hunting up north with Jim and I. We left from our camp at Piseco Lake and arrived at our hunting location. We started loading our guns when you realized you didn't have your ammo with you - it was at camp. No, Not Kevy, so you pulled out your 44 mag pistol and said "Jim I'll be alright." I said, you sure Kevy? I'm putting you at the best watch - with a pistol! There you sat with that 44 caliber in your hand. It wasn't too long when we heard a shot from your direction & Jim called you to see how big a buck you shot. I know you remember this one Kevy because when you said "Jimmy, I shot a coyote" you knew I'd be hot, but when I got over to you and saw that smile on your face, how could I be mad? Kayuta Lake in Forestport was never the same those 4th of July parties with you & James out on the pontoon boat with your arsenal of fire works. O yes & nothing small! We still can hear the people down the lake cheering you two on. Thanks for your great work and help at Harter Tool when we needed you. Our hearts are heaving right now but with time and all the great memories you will be our shining beacon on the trails and in the woods. We will truly miss you as you were like a son to us.
