Obituary of Kevin Gullis

HERKIMER-Kevin George “Kevy” Gullis, 36 of East German Street, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010. His untimely passing occurred as a result of injuries he sustained in a snowmobile mishap in the town of Herkimer. He was born on December 2, 1973 in Little Falls the son of George A. and Catherine A. (Crimmins) Gullis and educated in Herkimer schools. He was currently employed with Remington Arms, Ilion and formerly with Union Fork and Hoe. He was a member of the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club, East Herkimer Snow-Riders, Salisbury Ridge Runners and New York State Snowmobile Association. “Kevy” as he was affectionately known to family and friends live life to the fullest, to say the least. He lived for the outdoors and had three seasons, they were: hunting, snowmobiling and motorcycling. Kevy had a strong circle of friends who brought to his life joy and happiness. His family brought him much enjoyment and will always treasure the lasting memories they created with him. Survivors include his beloved family; his parents: George and Catherine Gullis of East Herkimer; a devoted brother: Daniel R. Gullis and wife Christen of Mohawk; two cherished nieces: Kharla and Karlee Gullis; aunts and uncles: Jack Crimmins of Herkimer, Pam and Robert Leskovar of Ilion and Bill Thresher and wife Betty of Florida; a great aunt: Sue Crimmins of Herkimer; many cousins; his girlfriend: Tracy Fletcher; and of course his numerous friends “on the trail”. Also surviving is his feline companion. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Albert and Hazel Gullis and by his maternal grandparents: Robert and Christine Crimmins and by paternal aunt: Evelyn Thresher. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 4- 8 p.m. Kevy’s funeral will commence at 11 am on Thursday, Jan. 14th, 2009 from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Victor W. McKusick, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring of 2010 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider memorial offerings to either Salisbury Ridgerunners or East Herkimer Sno-Riders. The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the many relatives and friends for their outpouring of support and friendship during this difficult time.
