Ciociolo of Little Falls; daughter Lorraine D'Ambrosio and future son in law John Mancuso' both of Herkimer; son Robert Jr. of Rochester and son Brian and his wife Christina, both of San Antonio, Texas. Missing their Grandpa are Bobby's three grandchildren; Vincent Enea, 29 of Herkimer and fiance Sarah, Nicholas McCumber, 21 and Grace McCumber, 8, both of San Antonio, Texas. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a sea of dear friends. Bobby was a patriot and a born leader who faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army as a tough but compassionate Drill Instructor. After his tour of duty was completed, Bobby applied these same skills and excelled as a Supervisor at Palatine Dye, Remington Arms, MCA Records and Walmart. Bobby was also a fierce competitor and a natural athlete earning high school varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. Known as perhaps the State's finest defensive player, Bobby wore jersey # 44 for the Semi- Pro basketball team: The St. Johnsville Saints. Bobby has testified that during this time he played against and with the best group of athletes to come out of this state. Bobby devoted his life to the youths of this community by unselfishly giving his time and talent. Whether he was a team coach or mentor, a League Director or Committee Chairman, Bobby instilled the fundamentals of the game that we still carry with us today and teach our youngsters, Bobby was a giver. As a Trustee of the Local Elks Lodge and acting President of the Polish Community Club and German Mannechor, Bobby spearheaded countless fundraisers to benefit local youth programs and businesses. Bobby was a great listener and man of action naturally drawn to people in need who were hurting. He always lended a sympathetic ear and a shoulder to lean on for those who really needed it. Bobby's eyes always welled up with tears as he recalled how privileged he was to have been given the city's Citizenship Award and the Elk Of The Year Award. Bobby loved music, hunting, fishing, going to camp and watching sports events. He considered his friends as family and loved his wife and children. Bobby's wish was not to be mourned as a person who lost a battle with illness but celebrated as a person who has triumphed in life through love. For all that he stood for and did for each of us we stand united as a grateful community. At the families request, there will be no wake or calling hours. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery on Friday July 17, 2009 at 11 am. The family is being cared for by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe St. Little Falls. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
