Obituary of Katherine D Filipski

LITTLE FALLS-Mrs. Katherine "Kitty" Filipski, 88, of Top Notch Dr., Little Falls, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2007 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born on June 5, 1919 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Merrill and Katherine (Russell) Doxtader and graduated from Dolgeville High School with the ?Class of 1937?. She furthered her education graduating from the Mildred Elley School of Business in Albany. On May 30, 1941, she was joined in marriage with William "Bill" Filipski in St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville. He passed away on December 7, 2002, after a devoted union of 61 years. Mrs. Filipski assisted her husband for many years in the operation of Little Falls Lumber and Little Falls Scaffolding where they built their business on serving the needs of others and the community. She was a faithful member of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, Little Falls. Mr. And Mrs. Filipski enjoyed their family and the times they spent together. They spent winters on Singer Island, Florida, and truly enjoyed traveling. Survivors include two sons, Mark W. Filipski and wife Lynn of Short Hills, NJ, James R. Filipski and wife Karen of Little Falls, a daughter, Sharon A. Jablin and husband Herb of Chicago, five cherished grandchildren, Russell and Sarah Filipski and Alexander, Christopher and Jordan Filipski; a brother: Robert and Mary Lou Doxtader of Devin, Pa.; and Carol Doxtader of Canandaigua; many in laws; several nieces, nephews and her beloved canine companions, Honey and Rosie. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter: Susan Erlanger and by two brothers: Merrill and Don Doxtader. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. Mrs. Filipski's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Friday, July 13 th from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 11 am from Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, Gansevoort St., Little Falls with the Rev. Raphael Dadello, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
