We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We were unable to attend the calling hours and wanted you to know that you are all in our prayers. Mr. and Mrs. Shedd were among the first to reach out to us as neighbors when we moved on "the hill" in 1980, and we will never forget that. They are wonderful people and great neighbors. I've known the Shedd family for over 35 years. Alan was a very smart man and I have great respect for him. God Bless your family, Denise I loved my Uncle Alan and I will never forget the rides on the "gator" or fishing in the pond. I wish I could have seen you more. Say Hi to Grampa for me, I'll miss you. I still think of Alan as he was, long ago. I was probably 12 or 14 and I was in awe of the big strapping cheerful cousin we would visit when we would go "down the line" visiting our many relatives. When I heard he could climb telephone poles and stuff like that Alan instantly assumed hero status. Over the years we both grew a lot older but I continued to admire him each time we met. Our prayers go out for Alan and the entire family. He meant so much to so many of us and brought such cheer into our lives. Jerry, Sombat and family

I know that I can speak for the rest of the "old" neighborhood, and completely agree, as Lori stated, that we were so lucky to have know "Mr. Shedd" and the rest of the family. I was saying to Mom today how much we all missed having you all next door. The memories keep flooding back, ALL wonderful, I must admit. I know that Mr. Shedd will join Daddy in watching over us all. We want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers. He sure gave the good fight!!! I know he is now smiling and looking down on all of you. I will miss hearing him call my dad "Gravy"! I remember how hard he worked to get me over my fear of jumping in that darn 10 foot section of your old pool! If it wasn't for him, I'd still be swimming in the shallow end. We were all lucky to know him, and we will all surely miss him.
