Uncle Sam will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only as my dad's brother, but as my teacher and my coach as well. As a teacher uncle Sam had a unique style of teaching, he made the difficult task of teaching Social Studies look simple, and found a way to make learning fun and interesting. Many of us were fortunate to have uncle Sam's unique teaching style to make it through Social Studies with passing grades. On the practice field, he taught us how to sweat and improve our game. Uncle Sam invested himself in everyone he trained on the field. As I look back I realize that he was teaching us about more than just the game and running with the ball, he was also teaching us about life, and about building charachter, he taught us skills that would guide us through life. As an uncle he was warm and loving to all of the nieces and nephews, and we always looked forward to seeing uncle Sam at the Christmas party at Grandpa's house or when he would stop in to visit with dad at the house. Uncle Sam is a strong spirit and he has left us with lasting memories. Mark, Mike, Nick and Family...please accept my deapest condolences for the passing of your dad.
