Obituary of Stanley Shuster

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. Stanley E. Shuster, 80, of Kennedy Rd., entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown with his loving family at his side. He was born on June 14, 1929, in Little Falls, son of the late Henry E. and Helen (Close) Shuster. He was a member of the 1947 graduating class of St. Johnsville. On April 15, 1950 he was united in marriage with Melanie McMahon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. Johnsville. The couple would have celebrated a loving union of 60 years this year. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family was everything to him including his beloved dogs. He started farming in October 1950 and was an active farmer until March 2009. He belonged to NFO, ASCS and was on the board of FHA. Stanley enjoyed bowling and loved his “Little Fergie” Tractor. Survivors include his beloved wife Melanie “Tiny”, his sons: James E. and his wife Karie of East Stone Arabia, Wayne H. and his wife Lori of St. Johnsville, Arthur T. and his wife Donnalyn of St. Johnsville and Karl S. and his wife Tina of Pickerington, Ohio; his daughter Doreen Faye Shuster; his grandchildren : Heather, Jennifer, Morgan, Alex, Michael, Benjamin, Sean, Kristen and Stephanie; his great grandchildren Ian and Ethan, his sister Mildred Hill of Binghamton, his extended family-the Bruchel Family- Maria, Nicholas, Ruthie and Peter; Sharon Roberts-Karl and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Francis, Robert and Donald. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 & from 12-2pm on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. There will be a service and a remembrance of Stanley’s life on Thursday 2pm with the Rev. David Johnson. After the service on Thursday , the family will welcome relatives and friends at the home of Lori and Wayne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Stanley's name to: Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road Sprakers, NY 12166. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
