Obituary of Lewis Hastings

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. Lewis "Mack" Hastings Jr., 44, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 7, 2010 after a long illness. He was born on October 14, 1965 in West Point, NY, son of the late Lewis M. and Margaret (Davis) Hastings. Lewis was a member of the Fort Plain VFW, the Sprite Club and the Spike Horn Club. He enjoyed four wheeling and hunting. He especially loved the Florida Keys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in the Gulf War. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and then his Masters Degree in Business Administration. Lewis worked for Lockheed Martin in Owego as an Electrical Engineer. Survivors include his daughter Madison Lynn Hastings and her mother Sharon Timpano; his son Shane Davis Hastings and his mother Shelly Lawyer; his sister Deborah Young and her husband Michael of Queensbury; his brothers Fred Hastings and his wife Teresa of Johnstown and Walter Hastings of Dolgeville; his aunts Norma Kelley, Caroline Hayes and Barb Voght; his uncles Gordon Davis and Ron Hastings and his nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Elisa Tricco. The family will receive relatives and friends at Mack’s memorial visitation from 4-6:30pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. A religious service will follow at 6:30pm with the Rev. David A. Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery at 11am on Thursday July 8, 2010. Military honors will be offered by the United States Navy. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mack's name be made to the H.C.Smith Benefit Club or to SAVAC. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
