Keith, Sharon and family,
My heart is filled with sadness. She was my second mom, friend, and a person with a HUGE heart. She always opened her house to us when we came to visit. She always had great food and desserts for us. We both had many many conversations in person and on the phone. We both knew we were there for each other always. We will miss her so very much. But, we have great memories to cherish forever. We will always be there for you. as I promised her.

To Donna's family: I had the pleasure of working with your Mom at HCCC. I appreciated her taking us new girls under her wing & showing us how the politics of the College & County worked. She was a great cook & I always looked forward to the annual cookie swap at Christmas. She was a walking encyclopedia of recipes & could always count on her to give me ideas for meals as a newly wed. I had not seen your Mom as much since her retirement; but thought of her often. May she rest in peace with her loved ones who preceded her. My prayers for you as you go through this time of grief.

I was sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. Donna was one of my best friends, especially when she worked at the college. We had many great times together. Since she retired, I would call her on her birthday (when I remembered it) and we would catch up with each other. I will miss her greatly and will keep you all in my prayers.

Donna was one of the first, best and longest-term friend I had at HCCC. She educated me as to 'politics' as a young faculty member and remained a loyal employee and colleague until the day she retired. She was a strong, unique and valued friend - and you always knew where you stood with Donna and her opinions were worn on her sleeve. You had to admire her candid nature and love of people and life. God bless and rest in peace!

Lori, Sari and Keith,
Our friendship goes way back and growing up on William Street with The Staggs and The Netti's, we were one big family. When my sister, Rita was in Little Falls hospital Donna and Rita were room mates and it was like a reunion. I can still picture your mom hanging out clothes and whistling "Bridge Over Trouble Waters", I never knew anyone could whistle like that! There is a big neighborhood reunion in heaven with my sister,Rita, Bev, Effie and now Donna and I bet they are all cooking up a storm.
May all your happy memories of your mom help you through the difficult days ahead. Know she is at peace and not in anymore pain. Love and Prayers, Mary

Lori, Sari, and Keith I worked with your Mom at HCCC. We had so many great times and laughs. She was such an awesome cook and one year she picked my name for our Christmas exchange and I told her I wanted lasagna. She made me a large pan of it.

I worked with Donna for many years at HCCC and also was in touch with her on occasion over the years. Since I am friends with her sister Nina's family, we often ran into each other at family gatherings and spent time catching up. She was one strong lady who will be dearly missed by many. rest in Peace My Dear Old Friend. You will once again be laughing with Janice and Nina & Gar, and be comforted in the arms of Don and our Lord.

Lori, Sari, Keith, and family, please accept my deepest and heartfelt condolences for the passing of your mom. I will always remember with fondness our families growing up together. Donna was always there for our family in good times and in bad and she was a very dear friend to my dad. I will also remember the coffee chats and board games at the backyard picnic table. I can still hear her whistling to music while she ironed and cooked up a storm on Sundays. And how she baked Christmas cookies for a month and how she came down to my dad’s the morning he passed away and brought a huge container of them for everyone to have with coffee. And the always present Soup Touraine full of Brach’s candy that she would let my son Dane take “just three” every time he visited her (Donna: “take 3!”, Dane: “how bout 5?”, Donna: “ok…JUST 5!”). I could go on and on. My family will never forget her. May she rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences go out to all the family. We all grew up together in the house on William Street in Herkimer. We had many years together sharing memories of holidays and everyday living. I will always remember going upstairs to visit Donna and chatting over coffee. I could always count on her for advice. She will always hold a place in my heart.

grandma I love you and miss you so much. I really wish I could of seen you this thanksgiving but I know you were ready. i'ce been crying my eyes out and just want to build puzzles and play skip bo and marbles with you. I want to help you cook and bake and tend your once extravagant garden. I just want to move up there and recreate your garden and carry on your wonderful legacy. I love you and cant wait to visit you this thanksgiving. love you always and I hope youre in a happy place now. i wish i could of said goodbye and seen you prior but you will always be in my heart. another angels has been gained in heaven and i will take care of dad and Sharon in this time of need i will be strong for them. i still cant believe youre gone but you will never be forgotten.
